(my house is 100% paid off).. will i have a problem getting this home equity loan?? should i even both applying or should i just wait until i pay down my credit cards more?? advice anyone?

I don't think you will be facing any problem in getting home loan based on the 100% paid equity contained in your house.
But i suggest you should double check your financial affairs with some expert financial analyst so that the will be no inconveniences in the future.
