Another day, another change that some investors are now requiring — this one for people who are currently in a VA loan and want to do a VA streamline refinance.

For as long as I can remember, the VA streamline refinance (aka the VA IRRRL program) did not require an appraisal for the borrower to participate in the VA streamline program and get a lower interest rate.

But that may be changing. Or, maybe a better way to say it is that it for sure is changing for some lenders.

As of recently, some lenders who lend money on these loans to require some form of an appraisal. Some lenders are now requiring a full blown appraisal, some are only requiring a drive-by appraisal — but the point is that many are now requiring it where before they did not.

Nice and great info dude! I want to say that Arizona give licenses to mortgage agents and mortgage financiers, but the loan conceivers that work for those companies are currently not licensed.

You gave us really a nice information. The Truth about Loans section allows consumers to search for mortgage rates while at the same time flagging those mortgage lenders that abide by the Borrower's Bill of Rights and are in good standing with the Better Business Bureau.

hii...good topic....as a resident of arizona, u'll have to get organized if u want to find the lowest rate mortgage out there. the fact is, there are many mortgage options available, and finding and comparing all of them can be tedious. u might start by considering what type of cost savings is most important to u. do u want the lowest possible payment, low overall interest costs, or simply the best interest rate? keep ur objective in mind as u search for the best purchase or refinance mortgage....
thank you

Has anyone noticed that some geographical areas are prone to higher lender interest rates? what about criteria flexibility, are some states more flexible than others (perhaps due to less drop in property prices locally?)
