My husband earns just over $280,000 a year. I went to Barack Obama's website and used the tax calculator to determine how much we will be taxed under his plan. I put in my husband's income, plus the remaining balance of our mortgage, and it said You will probably not get a tax cut under the Obama-Biden plan”. It didn’t even tell me how much he will tax us, just said we won’t get a tax cut, but of course for people within his tax cut bracket (Anyone who earns less than $250,000), it clearly displays how much they will save over McCain. FYI my husband didn't always earn that much, he used to earn far less than $60,000 but now that he has achieved what he wanted, Obama would tax him and take away half of my husband’s income. Obama says he will cut taxes for 95% of working families, but earning between $250,000 - $300,000 does not put one in the top 5% of the wealthiest Americans. We live in Silver Spring, MD near Washington DC. Everything is expensive here because of the proximity to the city, so earning what my husband earns in a major city like DC is not considered wealthy. Here is the tax calculator if you want to use it:http://taxcut.barackobama.comIf Barack Obama does not care about hard working people like my husband who worked their way to the top, then why should we vote for him?
