quitclaim deed

I am in need of information on quitclaim deeds. My elderly mother owns her home and it is titled in her name only. My father passed several years ago. She does not have a living will and has not specifically left it to any of her children. She wants to have one of her children added to the title so that if something happens to her we won't have any trouble claiming her property. Is a quitclaim deed a way for us to do this?Any helpful information would be appreciated!
