quick claim done, but mortgage still in both names.

I'm trying to get my ex-partner to refinance the mortgage into his name after I quick claimed our property to him. While he is dragging his feet, do I have any rights? Do I qualify for the tax break of 50% of the mortgage since I am still 1/2 responsible?
