Default Open Question: Property Taxes?

So I have been officially divorced for over 1 year now. In our decree, I was granted the house that we bought while being married but he was order to pay all the property taxes for 2006. Well, we are in 2008 and he never paid them (on top of many other things he didn’t and I have had to)…surprise surprise. For the last year, I have been renting the house and paying the mortgage. But, the mortgage is still under his name because he totally ruined my credit and I haven’t been able to refinance. I have tried asking him to pay but he either blows me off or says he already has….cant explain that one. Well, here is my question. I received a letter from mortgage company stating that the property taxes….$11,000!!!...have been added to the loan and that I will be paying an additional $1000 for the next year to cover the amount added. I don’t know what to do. Should I some how come up with this money and pay? I feel like it is in vain because the house is still under his name! And if I do pay, can I sue him for the total I have paid and get all my money back? Its not fair that I am spending my money…money I could spend on or with my daughter…on something he is responsible for paying. He is a Marine...
